Rules

Camp Rules
Our concern is that all campers have a safe and enjoyable visit to our campus; the following rules are to promote safety and reduce interference with other University programs. The rules are to be followed by all campers at all times.

-
Be polite and helpful and avoid the use of profanity.
-
Campers are prohibited from entering residence halls other than the one assigned to equestrian camp.
-
The residence hall will be closed and locked at all times. The doors are equipped with alarms which sound if the door is left open. To enter the building, campers must be accompanied by a member of camp staff (only staff members have card keys to enter the building from outside). Fire doors are only to be opened in case of emergency.
-
No visitors are allowed in the residence hall unless approved and supervised by staff.
-
No intoxicants or controlled substances will be allowed at any time. Anyone abusing this rule will be dismissed from camp and will return home.
-
All Auburn University facilities are SMOKE FREE.
-
Quiet zones should be maintained in and around residence halls and classroom buildings at all times.
-
No camper shall leave campus without permission from Equestrian Camp Staff.
-
Attendance at all camp activities and functions is MANDATORY.
-
If a camper is sick, injured, or for any reason needs medical or personal attention, she should immediately contact a staff member.
-
All prescription medications brought to camp must be declared at registration.
-
Proper riding attire is required (no tank tops nor spaghetti straps, shirts must be tucked in, helmets must be properly adjusted).
-
For jumping seat riders, approved riding helmets must be on and fastened before mounting any horse and must remain so until after dismounting.
-
It is the rider’s responsibility to provide a water bottle and sunscreen to protect her from the effects of summer sun and heat. If you need either of these things, ask a staff member. Water and Gatorade are available any time we are at the equestrian center.
-
Cell phone use is only permitted in the dorm room. It is required that all cell phones remain on silent and out of sight any time they are taken from the dorm rooms.
-
Keep a positive attitude. Whining, complaining, and negativity make it difficult for you and other riders to have a fun camp experience.
